Overview of Acid Reflux
Acid reflux is a digestive problem that occurs when acid in the stomach flow back to the esophagus. This may lead to irritation and trigger heartburn. The most common sign is a burning sensation in the abdomen or throat. In addition, other possible symptoms may include vomiting, nausea, stomach or chest pain, bad breath, a persistent cough, bad taste in the mouth, breathing issues, sensitive teeth, and swallowing problems. When acid reflux becomes worse, it would process into gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD. Many medications and home remedies can help manage the symptoms of this condition.
