10 Facts of Choledocholithiasis

What Is Choledocholithiasis?

Choledocholithiasis is a condition characterized by the presence of a gallstone in the bile duct. The bile duct is a small tube, which transports bile between the intestine and the gallbladder. In most cases, gallstones tend to form in the gallbladder. When they occur in the bile duct, it leads to choledocholithiasis. The size of the gallstones could range from extremely tiny to the same size of golf balls. People with this condition would have one, two, or even hundreds of stones in the body.[1]
