Grow Out of ADHD?

Can You Grow Out of ADHD?

In general, we cannot say that ADHD is a condition that people may outgrow. Behaviors in people with this disease tend to be associated with the typical stages of development, from youth to adolescence and adulthood. Behaviors of children change over time when they get aged. More specifically, they learn various behaviors to adapt to different environments. This means the manifested behaviors linked to ADHD may also change in response to new triggers. In some cases, people would no longer fit the diagnostic criteria for ADHD when they age. However, it does not necessarily mean that they grow out of the condition. They would receive another diagnosis later in life or not at all. [3]
