ADHD in Children
Children are usually diagnosed with ADHD around the age of 7. Behaviors linked to the condition may become clearer when they attend elementary schools. These include physical restlessness, trouble focusing, or inability to stay on task. During this time, they tend to be the most restless, particularly when these children have to change from a home to a classroom environment. There may be certain physiological differences as well. A brain area called the pre-frontal cortex, which is important for attention, may become smaller in kids with ADHD. This would affect their development and behaviors over time. [4]
