Wearing the Right Shoes & Warm Bath
Wearing shoes with little arch support or high heels may be a common cause of foot pain. To avoid it, you should choose the right pairs that are made to cushion the foot bed and put the heel a bit lower than the foot ball, which can help reduce pressure. Also, make sure your shoes fit the feet well. They should not be too short or too narrow. Consider adding inserts to alleviate bunion pain or provide more arch support. [4]
Soaking your painful foot in a warm bath would help ease the pain. All you need to do is to add 1 cup of Epsom salts to a container with warm water. Put your feet into the solution for 10 to 15 minutes to reduce swelling and alleviate sore muscles in the feet. You may replace Epsom salts with baking soda, but keep in mind that it tends to be more effective for skin-related issues rather than swelling or soreness. [5]
