What is Catatonic Schizophrenia?
Catatonia is a group of symptoms and signs that would occur in people with schizophrenia. It is characterized by periods in which the patients do not respond to instructions or move very little. Symptoms can vary in terms of intensity and frequency. In general, risk factors are the same for both schizophrenia and catatonic schizophrenia. While the condition cannot be cured, a number of treatment options are available to improve the symptoms. [1]
