Language Rehabilitation
For aphasia, language rehabilitation can improve the abilities of the patients to communicate by teaching new language skills to compensate for the loss and restoring them as much as possible. This is a quite slow process that would take a few months or even years. However, only a few people would regain their communication levels fully. The key to a quick and effective progress is an early start right after a brain injury. It often works in a group so that participants would interact and communicate with each other. Some sessions would use computers to help patients relearn word sounds and verbs. [14]
