Asides diuretics, other medicines can be used to treat Congestive Heart Failure. Medications such as ACE inhibitors, Aldosterone antagonists, Angiotensin receptor blockers, Beta blockers, Digoxin, Isosorbide dinitrate just to mention a few. All these medicines will only work effectively if they are consistently and religiously taken as prescribed by the doctor. Also, one other thing that will improve the effectiveness of these drugs is the maintenance of a heart-healthy lifestyle. Smoking and alcoholism should be stopped as these can suppress the powers of the drugs and even increase the severity of most of the symptoms. [5][6]
