6 Types of Seizures

Simple Focal Seizure

Simple focal seizures last for a short period of time, often less than 60 seconds. This type tends to cause abnormal electrical functions in the brain, thus changing how your basic senses interpret the surrounding environments. For instance, people with the condition would have strange tastes or smells even when they are eating the same foods. Their limbs like legs, arms, and fingers can also twitch when the condition affects isolated muscle groups. Sometime, these people would feel dizzy or see lighting flashes. Even though a simple focal seizure does not make you lose consciousness, it would make you feel nauseated, sweaty, and your skin look pale. If the occipital lobe is affected, an altered vision can happen. [4]
