10 Types of Brain Tumors

Astrocytoma

Around 2% to 10% of brain tumors grow in glial cells, which are called astrocytomas. They are able to spread widely in the brain and combine with other normal tissues, making it extremely difficult to get rid of in the surgery. Similar to oligodendrogliomas, this type of tumor will not develop outside of the spinal cord and brain. There are four main grades: grade 1 or non-infiltrating, grade 2 or low-grade, grade 3 or anaplastic, and grade 4 or glioblastomas, which is the quickest form. [2]
