Symptoms of Rosacea Based On Subtypes
In general, rosacea can be divided into four subtypes with different signs and symptoms. These include:
– Rosacea ETR: swollen skin, visible blood vessels, redness and flushing in the center of the face, burning and stinging skin, sensitive skin, as well as scaly, rough, and dry skin.
– Acne rosacea: oily skin, red skin, acne-like breakouts, raised skin spots, and broken blood vessels.
– Ocular rosacea: watery and bloodshot eyes, itchy and dry eyes, stinging or burning eyes, gritty eyes, reduced vision, and visible blood vessels on the eyelids.
– Thickening skin: large pores, bumpy spots, and thick skin on different parts, such as ears, cheeks, forehead, chin, or nose. [8]
