10 Causes of Kidney Disease

Kidneys are two organs that are located on the lower back. They are essential for filtering your blood and removing toxins from the body. However, toxins and waste accumulated over time would lead to many health issues with these parts, thus making them lose the ability to filter. Many factors would affect your kidney health, such as trauma, dehydration, disease, and toxic exposure. Let’s take a look at 10 common causes of kidney disease to seek suitable medical treatments.

1High-Sodium Diet

A higher level of sodium or salt in your body can be a major risk factor for kidney disease. In general, your kidneys have to work harder to balance these substances in the body. Thus, too much salt in your daily meal would make them prone to diseases. Also, sodium can trigger high blood pressure, which is directly associated with kidney disease in the long run. Ideally, you should consume no more than 2 or 3 g of salt on a daily basis. When purchasing foods, make sure to read the labels and avoid high-sodium products. [1]
