Psoriatic Arthritis Diet & Lifestyle Tips

Restrict Processed Foods

A diet high in processed foods can increase the risk of inflammation and obesity, a major risk factor for psoriatic arthritis. This is especially true for processed red meat like pork, beef, and lamb. In addition, processed products are filled with a lot of fat, salt, and sugar. All of these substances can trigger flare-ups and worsen your symptoms. Thus, it is better to replace them with healthier options, such as legumes, nuts, beans, lean or fatty fish, chicken, unprocessed lean meat, and fresh veggies as well as fruits. [4]
