Dairy and Inflammation

Dairy Components

Dairy is produced from the milk of mammal animals, commonly goats and cows. Common products include butter cheese, ice cream, kefir, and yogurt. Milk and dairy products are high in many essential nutrients like protein, calcium, vitamin D, probiotics, B vitamins, and CLA or conjugated linoleic acid. What’s more, they contain a lot of saturated fats. This is the main reason why many people think that these foods and drinks would lead to inflammation.

Saturated fats do not necessarily trigger inflammatory responses. However, they might worsen existing inflammation by increasing the absorption of lipopolysaccharides. Also, many people might have diarrhea, cramping, bloating, and other issues associated with inflammation symptoms. [2]
