Anaphylaxis
Though a rare symptom of carrot allergy, anaphylaxis is by far one of the most severe, even life-threatening. It may start with some mild symptoms such as runny nose, itchy lips, mouth, or throat. In a matter of minutes to hours, it begins to exacerbate into severe symptoms. If left untreated, it escalates to even more life-threatening symptoms. Initial symptoms of anaphylaxis include wheezing, gastrointestinal troubles, swelling of the mouth or lips. With time it deteriorates, and you may feel dizzy, have difficulty breathing, or have low blood pressure, which may lead to fainting. Anaphylaxis can result in death if not attended properly. If you notice any of the signs, call your doctor. Immediate treatment is the key to a quick recovery. [4]
