If you are married for at least 12 months before the enrollment, you can be eligible for premium-free Medicare Part A based on the work history of your wife or husband. The requirement is that people need to work at least 40 quarters to get the benefits. Nevertheless, if you do not meet those criteria, you can use the work record of your spouse to prove this. Non-working individuals can also get premium-free Medicare Part A when:
– They are divorced and the former spouses qualify for Social Security. Their marriage should last at least 10 years and the non-working people should be single now.
