Overview of Medicare

Medicare is the federal health insurance plan for those people who have passed the age of 65 in the United States. First introduced in 1965, the plan has undergone many changes to allow more individuals to participate in. It was estimated that up to 60 million people received benefits from Medicare in 2019. Medicare includes different parts:

– Part A for hospital expenses

– Part B for medical expenses

– Part D for outpatient prescription medications

– Part C includes benefits of these three parts [1]
