RSD Diagnosis
There is currently no definitive test for diagnosing RSD. A doctor needs to ask for symptoms, medical history, do a comprehensive physical exam, and perform some tests. It is necessary to diagnose RSD early to prevent possible complications, although the diagnosis can be challenging. You might wait for a few months or even longer to get the results. Possible tests to diagnose RSD include X-rays, MRI scans, bone scans, skin temperature readings, or sympathetic nervous system tests. Your doctor might also need to rule out other conditions, such as small fiber polyneuropathies, blood clots in veins, muscle diseases, Lyme disease, and arthritis. [6]
