Since common warts are mainly caused by the human papillomavirus, they are more common in those people with a weakened immune system. Young adults and children are at high risk as their bodies might not have grown fully to resist the virus. Similarly, those people who have HIV/AIDS or just had organ transplants might have a compromised immune system. It is important to know that the immune system of each person will respond differently to human papillomavirus.
