Steroid Prescription
In some cases of multiple myeloma, steroids can be injected into the affected area to alleviate the symptoms. Some commonly used options include Prednisone and Dexamethasone. The latter drug is the most common one, which would be prescribed as an injection or a tablet. In general, these steroids work by alleviating potential pain and inflammation triggered by the cancerous cells. In addition, they can induce the death of these components, thus speeding up the recovery. [9]
