Autism
Autism, fully known as an autism spectrum disorder, tends to make children become detached from the surrounding environments. They would also have difficulty interacting socially. In some cases, their behaviours would mimic the social development problems and hyperactivity common in those with ADHD. Other possible signs include emotional immaturity, which would be noticed with ADHD as well. Learning abilities and social skills would be limited in kids with both disorders, which may lead to problems at home and in school. [5]
Sensory Processing Disorder
Sensory processing disorder may have symptoms and signs similar to ADHD. These include oversensitivity or under sensitivity to smells, sight, tastes, sounds, body positions, movements, or touches. For instance, kids with this condition would be too sensitive to a specific fabric. They would be susceptible to accidents, have trouble concentrating, or fluctuate between activities, particularly when they are overwhelmed. Sensory problems happen when children find it hard to receive and respond to information from the body’s senses. [6]
