Urine Test
In a urine test, you have to collect all of the urine in the last 24 hours. This means you have to empty the bladder completely in the morning, then start collecting your urine every time during the day in the next 24 hours. Your doctor will take this sample to the lab for further analysis. The results would show if your urine contains low or high levels of the components that would form kidney stones. These include citrate, oxalate, uric acid, phosphate, and calcium. Abnormal levels would indicate the presence of kidney stones or infections in the urinary tract. [2]
