Kidney Disease – 5 Stages and Life Expectancy

5 Stages of Kidney Disease

Stage 1

In stage 1 of kidney disease, the GFR tends to be normal or a bit higher than 90 ml/min. There are no clear symptoms of damages in the kidneys. Though these organs do not function fully, they can still handle most of the jobs properly. Some typical signs of this stage include protein or blood in the urine, high levels of urea or creatinine, or minor damages which can only be noticed in X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scan, or MRI. Make some lifestyle changes early would slow down the development of kidney disease. [3]
