Other Possible Causes of Rash Under the Breast

In addition to shingles, rashes under the breast may be caused by other conditions. These include:

– Eczema: red spots resembling hives in multiple or single clusters; flaky and dry skin; intense itching.

– Psoriasis: red spots on the skin; thick, cracked, dry skin, silver-white scales; soreness, itching, pain, burning sensations, and swollen joints.

– Dermatomyositis: dark red or purple rashes under the breast or around the neck; muscle weakness, fever, joint pain.

– Poison ivy: blistery, swollen, red skin; itching, pain.[4]
