Stage 5
In the last stage of herpes, the scab will fall off and all cold sores will heal gradually. In most cases, these symptoms would occur after 1 or 2 weeks from the previous stage without the need of medications or drugs. You might notice that the skin under the scab might become reddish or pink after that. This is a very normal condition that you should not worry about. However, keep in mind that the viruses might still be dormant in your body and wait for the ideal time to recur. [1][2]
