Hoarseness
When a goiter grows in size, it might press on other structures in the neck. In some people, this condition would increase the pressure on the windpipes and some nerves that are responsible for the voices. As a result, they might have hoarseness, which is abnormal changes in the usual voice. When this occurs, they would have an airy, weak, or raspy quality to the voice that can prevent them from making smooth sounds. The symptom would last for a long period until the goiter is removed.
