Elbow Pain Causes

Olecranon Bursitis

Another possible cause of elbow pain is olecranon bursitis. It affects a fluid-filled sac between the skin and the tip of your elbow bone. People with this condition tend to have tenderness and swelling around the joins. When the swelling becomes worse, they might not be able to move their elbow fully. Acute olecranon bursitis often occurs due to trauma, infection, or gout. Inflammatory arthritis or repetitive overuse of muscles are common causes of chronic bursitis. [3]
