Possible Complications of Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is one of the safest forms of surgery. However, some rare cases still develop some postoperative complications. Infections would occur in severe cases and should be treated immediately to prevent further damages. Also, the surgery might cause inflammation, which would lead to achy eyes, pain, or light sensitivity. Swelling in the retina’s back could also happen in some people. However, it would resolve in a few weeks. Some other possible risks include retinal detachment or posterior capsular haze. [7]
