Diagnosis: Colon Examination
As part of the diagnosis, in order to make a sound diagnosis, your doctor might have to examine your colon for areas of inflammation or visible damage. This is carried out with the help of a flexible tube inserted into the colon with a camera at one end. The examination may uncover other causes of the symptoms you might be having.
Imaging tests may be run to determine other complications of the C. Difficile infection, such as bowel perforation, kidney injury, and thickening of the colon wall. This should include a CT scan of segments of the colon.
