Atonic Seizure – Symptoms, Causes, Treatments and More

Signs and Symptoms of an Atonic Seizure

An atonic seizure would affect part or the whole body. Common symptoms in adults may include dropping objects, all or part of the body getting limp, and falling to the floor. In children, possible signs may include unexpected loss of muscle tone, going limp, falling, short loss of consciousness, jerking, nodding head, or drooping eyelids. After an attack, you would recover quickly to the normal consciousness and alertness. It is normal to feel confused or disoriented about what just occurred. In certain cases, a fall may lead to an injury in certain parts of the body.  [5]
