Encephalitis
Encephalitis is the inflammation of the brain cells. While there are many causes, herpes simplex or HSV is the most common trigger. These viruses would penetrate your brain areas and injure neurons or brain cells, thus causing brain atrophy. This leads to some health issues such as paralysis, seizures, and confusion. In mild cases, you might experience some flu-like signs such as a headache or fever. But when encephalitis progresses, it would trigger more severe conditions related to your cognitive system. However, the disease is rarely life-threatening. Timely diagnosis and treatments are very important as it is more difficult to predict the effects of this disease on each person. [5]
