ACE Inhibitor
In the human body is a substance called angiotensin II produced by an enzyme. This substance narrows the blood vessels, and when the blood vessels are narrowed, a strain is put on the heart to work harder which causes high blood pressure. This substance also causes blood vessels to release hormones that can raise blood pressure. Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitor, therefore, prevents this enzyme from producing the angiotensin II substance. There are different types of ACE inhibitors depending on the health condition you want to use them for. ACE inhibitors do not always cause side effects, but some possible side effects are dry cough, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, and loss of taste. [5]
