7 Symptoms of Heart Failure

Shortness of Breath

Dyspnea or shortness of breath is one of the most typical signs of heart failure. When the left ventricle of the heart cannot pump blood forward, as usual, blood will back up in your pulmonary veins, which are responsible for returning blood from your lungs to your heart. As a result, both lungs can be clocked with the buildup of fluids that prevent them from functioning properly. That is why people with heart failure tend to experience shortness of breath. Try to notice your breathing to check whether it is more fainted or labored than usual. This is often the earliest symptom that happens after exertion. [1]
