What Is Myocarditis?
Myocarditis is a condition characterized by the inflammation of the myocardium, which is a muscle in the heart’s wall. It plays an important role in relaxing and contracting to pump blood to other parts of the body. In people with myocarditis, the operation of the heart can be affected and become less effective. This results in many issues, such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, or abnormal heartbeat. In more serious cases, blood clots can happen and lead to a stroke or heart attack. [1]
