2Yellow Eyes and Skin
Yellowing of the eyes and skin, medically known as jaundice is a symptom that accompanies the liver disease. Whether in children or adults, having a liver disease can cause the whites of your eyes to turn yellow. The liver helps in the production of bile and bile consists of water, cholesterol, bilirubin, bile salt, etc. An inflamed liver will cease to function properly and excrete excess bilirubin, this causes a buildup of bilirubin in the blood, causing discoloration, and showing up in your eyes and skin. When the bilirubin levels in the blood go very high, the skin color darkens. [1]
