10 Symptoms of Cushing’s Syndrome(Hypercortisolism)

Purple or Pink Stretch Marks

Also known as striae, stretch marks are scars that occur when the skin is thinned or stretched. It is not uncommon for people with Cushing’s syndrome to have purple or pink marks on the skin. The symptom can be found on different body parts, such as arms, breasts, thighs, or abdomen. More specifically, the skin might show purplish or pinkish lines and are several millimeters in thickness. There might also be a general darkening of the neck skin. Spots would be evident on the shoulders, chest, and face as well. Marks with darker colors tend to be newer. They often fade to silver or white over time without treatments. [6]
