Lower back pain
Sharp lower back pain is another symptom of a fibroid. There are different types of fibroid: the Intramural fibroid grows in the wall of the uterus; the submucosal fibroid grows underneath uterine lining; the subserosal fibroid grows on the outside of the uterus, and it is likely to cause lower back pain. A large fibroid in the back surface of the uterus will press against the muscles and nerves of the lower back, causing back pain. Asides this, the pelvic pain during heavy periods may radiate into the lower back, leading to pains.
