Frequent urination
Researchers have found out that there is a link between fibroid and bladder problems. A woman with fibroids will wake many times during the night to empty her bladder and in some occasions find herself unable to urinate despite having a full bladder. A huge fibroid in the uterus can expand the uterus to the size of a 6-month pregnancy and then press against the bladder, thereby reducing its capacity to hold urine. The dangerous part of this is that the fibroid can press against the ureter, blocking the passage of urine. In this situation, immediate surgery needs to be carried out to prevent urine flowing back to the kidney and permanently destroying the organ. [4]
