rhAPC
rhAPC or recombinant human activated protein C is a new form of drugs that can be used for treating some serious cases of sepsis. It is typically made with a genetically modified protein molecule known as Protein C. This substance is proved to lower the level of inflammation in the body and prevent blood from forming clots. Those are two essential goals in sepsis treatment. However, internal bleeding is a possible side effect of this method. Thus, rhAPC is not suitable for those people with a history of internal injury, stroke or surgery. [9]
