1Overview

HIV, Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a virus that destroys the body’s cells and weakens the immune system from fighting other mundane infections. HIV progresses through stages to AIDS, which is the name given to a number of infections that destroy the immune system after HIV has been allowed to grow without medication. There’s no cure for HIV currently, though several medications (or therapies) can be administered to enable sufferers to lead normal and healthy lives. If detected early enough, most cases of HIV will not progress to AIDS, if treated properly. [1]
