Fever
This symptom is most common in children with whooping cough. An adult with whooping cough is unlikely to have a fever. Nevertheless, a slight fever is possible. Fever is simply a rise in the temperature of the body which is a result of bacterial infection. Can you now see why this symptom is likely to occur? Whooping cough is also as a result of bacterial infection! Amidst the cold and nasal congestion, there is slight hotness of the body (usually below 102F), which makes the patient sick. This symptom creates beads of perspiration on the brows of the patient.
