Fever

This symptom is most common in children with whooping cough. An adult with whooping cough is unlikely to have a fever. Nevertheless, a slight fever is possible. Fever is simply a rise in the temperature of the body which is a result of bacterial infection. Can you now see why this symptom is likely to occur? Whooping cough is also as a result of bacterial infection! Amidst the cold and nasal congestion, there is slight hotness of the body (usually below 102F), which makes the patient sick.
