Calcaneal Apophysitis
Calcaneal apophysitis is a condition in which the middle of your heel bone is irritated due to increased physical activities or a new pair of shoes that do not fit properly. Unlike other causes, people with calcaneal apophysitis mostly feel the discomfort on the back of their heel rather than the bottom. This is a quite common cause in growing and active children as they often jump a lot. Taking enough rest and reducing the frequency of physical activities can be effective in speeding up the recovery. [6]
