What is Lactic Acid

Signs of Lactic Acid Buildup

When the body generates more lactic acid than needed, it would build up in the muscles. This leads to slightly sore and fatigued muscles. Some other typical symptoms include vomiting, nausea, muscle cramping, weakness, yellowing of the skin, tingling, numbness, shortness of breath, shallow or rapid breathing, and burning sensation. They tend to last for a few days before subsiding without the need for treatments. However, if these symptoms persist or become severe, it might indicate the presence of lactic acidosis. Make sure to contact your doctor as soon as possible to prevent further complications. [4]
