Lactic Acid Test
The level of lactic acid in the body can be measured by a blood test called the lactic acid test. The doctor will ask for a blood sample from your arm vein or artery. It will be tested later in the lab for the substance. This procedure is often suggested to check for lactic acidosis, find out the cause of low pH blood, and examine whether the body’s tissues get sufficient oxygen. Before the test, you should not do exercises or eat anything because these activities might change the final results. This is a safe test without significant side effects.
