Mushrooms
Mushrooms are a complete source of plant-based vitamin D. They would synthesize their own nutrients from UV light and produce ergocalciferol or D2, a form of vitamin D. While the levels of vitamin D might depend on the forms of mushroom, some types like maitake mushroom might contain more nutrients. Keep in mind that wild varieties tend to have more vitamin D compared to commercially grown mushrooms as they are exposed more to sunlight. However, make sure to buy them from a reliable supplier to avoid some poisonous types. [12]
