Understanding Medicare Reimbursement and Claims

Medicare Reimbursement – How It Work?

The reimbursement rates of all medical equipment and services covered by Medicare are determined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, a federal agency belonging to the United States Department of Health and Human Services. When an assignment is accepted by a provider, Medicare-set fees are also accepted. There will be no charge for the difference between Medicare fees and the normal rate. Most of payments in Medicare are delivered to service providers for part A and part B. Remember that you still need to pay deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments in the plan. The next sections will provide more information on reimbursements in each Medicare part. [1]
