Tips for Moving to Another State with Medicare

Overview of Medicare

Medicare is the federal insurance program for people who are over 65 years old and for those who have some conditions or disabilities. There are different parts that pay for various healthcare services:

– Medicare Part A pays for hospital expenses, such as hospice care, diagnostic tests, nursing care, or semi-private room.

– Medicare Part B pays for outpatient and preventive services, such as screening tests, ambulance transport, medical equipment, and doctor’s office visits.

– Medicare Part C or Medicare Advantage may cover both Parts A and B and additional services, such as hearing, vision, or dental care, and prescription medications.

– Medicare Part D pays for prescription medications. [1]
