Medicare Part C Eligibility: All You Need to Know

Who Is Eligible for Medicare Part C?

In general, you are eligible for Medicare Part C if you meet the following two requirements:

– You must enroll in Original Medicare, including Medicare Part A and Part B. To qualify for this, you need to be a citizen of the United States or a legal permanent resident for at least five years. Also, you need to be at least 65 years old. Some specific rules may apply to people younger than 65 years old with disabilities or certain diseases.

– You must reside in a neighborhood where an insurance firm provides a Medicare Part C plan with the coverage they require. The plan should be available during the enrollment or application period. [2]
