Kidney Stones Diet – Foods to Eat or Avoid

Water

Drinking sufficient water is the key to preventing and treating kidney stones. Fluids would reduce the risk of both cysteine and uric acid stones by lowering the concentration of minerals in the blood. Ideally, you should drink around 2 liters of water on a daily basis. The amount should be more when you exercise intensely or get sick. Some other liquids such as juice can also be considered. However, make sure to check the levels of sodium before drinking. Always bring a bottle of water with you during the day to ensure hydration during the day. [3]
