The largest white blood cell
Monocytes are the biggest white blood cells. They can be found in the majority of tissue in your body. During an infection or injury, they will release special chemicals that would attract other white cells to the infected areas. Also, they can engulf pathogens and cells on their own, then destroy those invaders with hydrolytic enzymes. Macrophages also help with adaptive immunity by showing info about outside antigens to your immune cells. Those parts will use this info to quickly defend against the intruders. [9]
